Tadd Jenkins Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram

Are Dodge and RAM the same brand?

Dodge and RAM are two names that have been together for a long time. But are they the same thing? Dodge and RAM were both owned by Chrysler, and the first Dodge RAM vehicle premiered in 1981. However, in 2009 Chrysler separated the Dodge and RAM brands to their own vehicle lines. Today, both brands are owned by Stellantis, a multinational automotive manufacturing corporation. Stellantis builds traditional American brands including Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, RAM and Wagoneer, and even international cars like Fiat and Maserati.

How are Dodge and RAM different?

Dodge has now taken over the productions of their cars and minivans while RAM specifically focuses on trucks. This split allowed each brand to focus on innovating new models for the industry, coming up with powerhouse automotive technology like the unrivaled 6.2L V8 SRT Hellcat. With the ability to specialize design and function, Dodge created some of their most popular family vehicles on the road, while RAM has created some of their most advanced pickups to date.
